Itinerary
Day 1: La Paz - Copacabana
Embark on a journey from La Paz, heading northwest across the expansive Altiplano. Marvel at the majestic Royal Andean Range and the serene Titicaca Lake along the way. After a four-hour drive, we reach our hotel in Copacabana. Following lunch, explore the grand cathedral with whitewashed stone walls, adorned with multiple domes featuring deep blue tiles. The highlight is the impressive gold altarpiece, embellished with silver leaves from the mines of Potosi. Conclude the day with a walk to the summit of Calvary Hill, offering a breathtaking vantage point for the sunset, before returning to the hotel.
Day 2: Copacabana - Sun Island - Copacabana - La Paz
Following breakfast, our adventure sets sail as we board a motorboat to explore the southern reaches of the revered Sun Island. Two key highlights await: the Yumani area, home to a mystical water fountain believed to bestow eternal youth, and the Pilcocaina area, housing enigmatic Inca ruins. After this exploration, we return to Copacabana by boat, enjoy lunch, and head back to La Paz, a four-hour ride away. Alternatively, continue your travels by bus to Puno for an extended exploration.
